Shuttle Buses will transport volunteers from the parking area to the crafts fair. Parking will be located at the University of Memphis Poplar and Deloach Street parking lot. Parking is free.

STEAM FEST

Pink Palace Museum (3050 Central Ave 38111)
Wednesday, October 7 – Friday, October 9

We are looking for volunteers to help with STEAM FEST at the Pink Place Museum. Volunteers will assist with hands-on activities like stomp rockets, pendulum painting, Cubelets designing, Strawberry DNA extraction, in the microscope labs, greeting visitors, and helping to make this event is fun and engaging for everyone. No special experience is required. Just a positive attitude and a willingness to help and have fun. Volunteers must be 18 years and over for this event. Gallery and Discovery Cart Volunteers: Weekdays 10:00am to 2:00pm

Help visitors explore the Pink Palace Museum’s galleries, artifacts, and specimens as a Gallery or Discovery Cart Volunteer. In this role, you’ll engage with guests, help facilitate exhibits and hands‑on activities, and support museum programming to enhance the visitor experience. Whether you’re a retiree, a student, a science enthusiast, a history fan, or someone who simply enjoys connecting with people, there’s a meaningful place for you at MoSH.

MoSH | Lichterman Nature Center

Setting up for Lichterman Nature Center’s Fall Plant Sale

Lichterman Nature Center (5992 Quince R. 38119)
Thursday, October 1 and Friday, October 2
9am – 12pm, and 12pm – 3pm

Volunteer and learn more about native plants, how they help sustain local insects and bird life in the area, and be the first to see the new greenhouse at Lichterman. Volunteers will help with putting plants out on the green space, potting plants for sale, and getting signage out on the lawn. 5 volunteers are needed for each shift. Get an early start on your fall garden, volunteers will also get 10% off any plants purchased the day of the sale. Thank you for helping us make this event a success!

Lichterman Nature Center’s Fall Plant Sale

Lichterman Nature Center (5992 Quince Rd 38119)
Saturday, October 3
9:30am-1:30pm and 1:00pm-4:00pm

If you are a plant person, a people person, or if you would like to learn more about native plants , then this is the volunteer opportunity for you. Volunteers will greet visitors to the plant sale, help with directing visitors around the sale areas, assist with plant check out, and help with rehousing plants at the end of the day. 10 volunteers are needed for each shift. Volunteers will also get 10% off any plants purchased. Thank you for helping us make this event a success!

First Saturdays at Lichterman

Join us on the first Saturday of the month, starting April through December 2026 for an opportunity to volunteer at Lichterman Nature Center working on a variety of projects to help conserve and maintain this unique property. Projects will be seasonally appropriate and can include trail maintenance, invasive plant removal, trash clean-up, and planting native plants. Backyard Wildlife Center Volunteers

Learn about native wildlife as you assist with the care and feeding of the animals at Lichterman’s Backyard Wildlife Center.

Greenhouse Volunteers

Plant lovers are  needed to help in Lichterman’s Plant Propagation Center Wednesdays through Saturdays. Volunteers will assist with weeding, watering and propagating plants in the Greenhouse. Volunteers must be physically able to assist with all aspects of plant bed maintenance.
