This exhibit explores the history culinary herbs and spices around the world and the difference between what is categorized as an herb or spice. Information about twelve different herbs and spices is located on inside each box, which only shows its botanical drawing on the outside. Open the box to learn which herb or spice was drawn. Each box has a recipe featuring that herb or spice, facts about the herb's or spice's world origins and the plant itself, or the fragrant smell associated with that herb.
