We’re thrilled to share the incredible experience your child will encounter during their upcoming visit to Lichterman Nature Center! As part of our Live Animal Program, students will get an up-close encounter with three fascinating animals from the Backyard Wildlife Center, representing the unique habitats of Lichterman: the lake, the meadow, and the forest. But the adventure won’t stop there! Students will dive into hands-on learning with preserved specimens from each habitat, sparking curiosity and excitement about the natural world around them. This immersive program will not only bring wildlife to life but also inspire a deeper understanding of the ecosystems that make Lichterman so special. Be sure to ask your child about their favorite animal or habitat—they’re sure to have some wild stories to share!

LEARNING OBJECTIVES AND KEY VOCABULARY

During the field trip, your child will learn and use vocabulary related to the habitats, animals, and ecosystems explored at Lichterman Nature Center, enhancing their understanding of environmental science and the natural world.
