Explore the far reaches of our universe and beyond.
Journey to distant galaxies, explore the solar system and settle back in a comfortable seat in the AutoZone Dome at the Sharpe Planetarium as you take a cosmic voyage through the universe. The 130-seat theater-in-the-round, located on the grounds of the Pink Palace Museum & Mansion, uses the latest planetarium technology to project star fields, visual images and patterns on a domed ceiling. Augmented by a superb sound system, daily planetarium programs are a treat for the eyes and ears. In addition to daily shows, the Planetarium hosts unique multisensory musical experiences, both live and recorded. Laser Live, a program made possible by the State of Tennessee and in partnership with WYXR and Shell on Wheels, welcomes live music performances with accompanying laser visuals. Each Friday night, Laser Rock brings recorded artists—from Pink Floyd and Queen to Beyonce—and their most iconic songs to life with stunning laser visuals.
