CxffeeBlack Barista Cultural Exchange

Join Cxffeeblack co-founders Bartholomew Jones and Renata Henderson as well as Barista Exchange participants on September 26 for an advance screening of Part 1 of the Cxffeeblack docu-series “Cxffee Makes You Black,” a coffee brewing demonstration, and Q&A about the indigenous history and science of coffee. Cxffeeblack is a community-owned, education-based coffee company with a mission to return coffee to its African roots, while creating an equitable Black future along the way. This film screening is in conjunction with their Barista Cultural Exchange, which will bring four African baristas to Memphis for a coffee educational exchange.

More about Cxffeeblack: In 2023, Cxffeeblack won the Sprudge Media Networks’ 14th Annual Sprudgie Award for Best Film in Coffee for its documentary, “Cxffeeblack to Africa,” which follows Cxffeeblack’s inaugural sojourn to Ethiopia. Cxffeeblack was honored in the 15th Annual Sprudgie Awards as Global Notable Roaster of the Year and was the inaugural recipient of the Coffee Coalition for Racial Equity’s 2024 Innovator of the Year award.
