Summer Pride Film Series
As part of our Rise Up and Memphis Proud exhibits offerings, MoSH in partnership with Out Memphis, is presenting a LGBTQ+ film series. Thanks to the efforts of Greg Creel at Distributions Solutions, we procured these films at a discounted rate, and were able to pass along the savings to ticketholders. Tickets include a $5 valued MoSH cup with drinks available at the cash bar.
Curiosity Club, an on-site childcare program, will be available during the duration of the film. Curiosity Club will be supervised by MoSH staff and includes fun and interactive science activities. Childcare: $15 non-members; $12 members. (additional cost not included in ticket price)

June 23 – Swan Song – RATED R
Swan Song is the story of a formerly flamboyant hairdresser who takes a long walk across a small town to style a dead woman’s hair.

July 28 – To Decadence with Love, Thanks for Everything – NOT RATED
This documentary film follows the lives of two drag queens Laveau Contraire and Franky Canga as they prepare for a weekend of New Orleans’ queer celebration of identity, Southern Decadence.

August 25 – Moonlight – RATED R
Moonlight looks at three defining chapters in the life of Chiron, a young black man growing up in Miami grappling with his identity and sexuality while experiencing the everyday struggles of childhood, adolescence, and burgeoning adulthood. His epic journey to manhood is guided by the kindness, support, and love of the community that helped raise him. Moonlight won the Best Picture Academy Award in 2017.
Intergenerational Conversation Panel Series
MoSH in partnership with Rhodes College, presents a live webinar series where panelists, chosen at the discretion of the Memphis Proud Advisory Committee, come together virtually to discuss important topics in the local and national LGBTQ+ community. These virtual conversations will be live at 6PM (CT) on the Second Thursday of each month from July to September.

Cocktails and Chemistry with the Blue Suede Sisters

MoSH in collaboration with the Blue Suede Sisters invite you to a one of a kind night of shenanigans that combines cocktails, drag nuns, and science experiments. This is a 21+ event where guests can buy drinks from the cash bar and mingle with the Sisters before going downstairs to perform exciting science experiments under the instruction of Sister Kat Ion and the Blue Suede Sisters. In our laboratory, guests will need to work in pairs, so bring a lab partner or we will assign one for you! When participants register online, they will each receive pre-lab instructions regarding lab apparel and a waiver which must be completed before the science starts.

September 24 – Drag Show
To conclude a summer of pride celebration, MoSH, in collaboration with Friends of George’s, presents the first ever drag show in the Museum of Science & History! This evening will include appetizers, desserts, a drag show, dancing, as well as a cash bar. A DJ will provide music across the decades for a truly intergenerational community LGBTQ+ party. More details to follow.
